Dr. Anthony Verschoor is a pragmatic innovator. He has a background in plankton ecology and was involved in the first Dutch algae company (Aquacultura).
At his current employer Ingrepro he developed various algae products for non-food, feed and food applications, and was co-inventor of the Ingrepro AlgaeBioReactor for wastewater treatment. Furthermore he actively participated in the long dialogue between feed legislators and the emerging algae sector, with as highlight the first accredited GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance system for a microalgae plant in the world.
Last year he became coordinator of the Algae research theme of Wetsus, Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology, involving 8 PhD students and 14 participating companies. This research theme aims at development of breakthrough technologies, which will be brought to the market by the participating companies.
