Attend CBM World

Global Coal Bed Methane Experts’ 2009 meet to share latest Opportunities & Projects in CBM.

CMT’s 2nd CBM World conference, to be held on 10-11 March 2009 in Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta INDONESIA sets the stage for discussion on the technical, environmental, financial and regulatory issues affecting CBM development in Asia Pacific & across the world. The conference facilitates limitless opportunities to network with industry leaders, regulators and government officials from Asia- Pacific and the world.

Can COAL BED METHANE be the answer to Asia’s growing gas needs?

Coal Seam Gas has become a great asset due it its abundance and the fact that it burns cleaner than natural gas. Coal Bed Methane is now a valuable contributor to the world’s energy portfolio, and is becoming increasingly important.

On the whole, Asia coal bed methane stores are estimated at about 2,100 trillion cubic feet; most of this is largely untapped. With the region’s appetite for gas growing annually about 2%, there is no denying the rise of the CBM sector over the past 5 years that has seen market capitalization of independent CBM operators exploding from $100M in 2002 to over $2 billion.

CMT’s CBM World conference has to establish itself as the distinctive event dedicated to Coal Bed Methane in Asia. If you are already an established stakeholder in CBM, a new entrant or are potentially looking to invest in the industry, you really can’t afford to miss this event.

Take a look at our 9 Principal themes and you’ll see why. In over two days we’ve packed more value and options than ever before!

1. Latest Updates on Growth Accelerating Regulatory framework in Indonesia’s CBM sector.

Having signed the first CBM production sharing contract in May 2008, the government of Indonesia has said it intends to sign several more, and has already put in place a policy framework to attract investments to tap this new source of gas, making Indonesia the HOTTEST growth region for CBM investments in Asia.

Hence 2nd CBM World will feature an exclusive session by Dr. Ing. Evita Legowo, Director General Oil & Gas at the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources, sharing an update on the policy and regulatory framework in Indonesia’s CBM sector, aimed at providing investors with the key to accelerate development of their projects.

Dr. Evita will touch on issues in land ownership, royalty considerations and the licensing process, as well as the fiscal drivers for CBM growth in Indonesia. She will provide updates on the infrastructure availability to bring the gas to the market and also touch on the PSC contract specifications for CBM projects in Indonesia.
