16:30 BIOREFINERY CONCEPT FOR JATROPHA

Overview of Presentation
The Jatropha Curcas plant is currently receiving a great deal of attention. The main focus is on the use of the plant oil and derivatives as a green liquid transportation fuel for stationary and in-stationary engines. However, the plant contains many more interesting components. A research consortium of Dutch and Indonesian universities was established in 2006 with the purpose to perform scientific research on the valorization of all plant components using the biorefinery concept. The outline of the program and recent results will be reported.

JATROPHAWORLD 2008 is a showcase of all the latest trends and shifts occurring in the Jatropha value chain, bringing together on a single platform, the best expertise to discuss and analyze the present and future dynamics of Jatropha from a technological and socio-economic angle.
