WaterLand Synergy Pte Ltd is focused on the intercropping and multi-cropping of “food” crops technologies between Jatropha Curcas L plantations.  By intercropping and multi-cropping “food” crops with Jatropha, the programs become much more economically feasible and profitable for both the investors and the farmers.  However, as the plantations are expanded, the local markets are not sufficient to buy all of the “food” crops produced.  Export markets must be developed which requires high quality “food” crops and value added post-harvest processes.  WaterLand Synergy provides the agronomy expertise and technologies as well as the international markets to make this possible and provides the farmers with the training, technologies, high caliber seeds and plant stocks, and a guaranteed purchase agreement for the “food” crops that are produced between the Jatropha.

Waterland BioScience LLC have 4 R&D centers located in Indonesia, Vietnam, The Netherlands and Malaysia.

Their mission and goals are:

• Research & Development of Energy and Food Integrated cropping systems;
• Bringing marginal lands into productive and sustainable production;
• Bringing biodiversity and restoring ecological balance to degraded or deforested lands;

Starting from production and exporting of wood waste Biomass products to Jatropha plantations and crude PPO Jatropha oil.

William Ludwig Nolten, BSc, MSc, in his function as the Region Asia Director of the Waterland International Group based in Rotterdam the Netherlands, President Director of PT Waterland Asia Bio Ventures based in Jakarta – Indonesia, Technical Director of WaterLand Synergy based in Singapore and is also the Chairman of the Waterland BioScience LLC based in the USA. 

Drs. Ir. William Ludwig Nolten, Bsc,MSc, completed his studies in the Netherlands with a focus on (MSc in) Science and Innovations Management (NW&I – specialized in Quality Management Systems) and BSc in Plant Biochemistry and food Microbiology.
