AGROIPSA is an organization incorporated in the Jatropha Curcas industry whose origins begin with the initiative to seek an alternative to use of jatropha seed oil for biodiesel production.
AGROIPSA, has planted 1100 hectareas of jatropha since 2007, with a simple clone from Cabo Verde, and 125 ha of drip irrigation. More than 90,000 mother plants from cabo verde are three years old. It is the largest commercial plantation of jatropha in central America. We have cooperation with important local and foreign universities in several R&D.
Our objective is to establish at least 25,000 cultivated hectares in Honduras dedicated to the extraction of Jatropha seed oil and to produce 40 thousand tons of oil in a period of time no longer than ten years.
